'For Christians, the future does have a name, and its name is Hope'

They may be two contrasting interviewees but both Sr Judith Russi and Pádraig Ó Tuama offer inspiration and hope in their interviews with Raymond Friel.

In Raymond’s interview with Sr Judith she offers a passionate witness to Catholic education and the critical importance of the formation of Catholic leaders. She also speaks with great insight on the role of pupil chaplains in schools and the importance of prayer.

In Raymond’s interview with Pádraig, Pádraig offers elegant and moving insights into the subject of leadership and conflict, the charismatic figure of Jesus in the Gospels and the challenges of being a Christian and gay.

Both interviews are available on CD and thus allow the listener to revisit extracts from the interview. Willie Slavin from Networking Magazine commented that the ‘…benefit of listening again and picking up the bits I missed, allowed for a reassessment of the importance of some particularly challenging moments’ (from review for Sister Judith in conversation with Raymond Friel). With transcriptions included with the interviews Willie Slavin states in his review for Pádraig Ó Tuama in conversation with Raymond Friel that the ‘…accompanying transcription, offers a most rewarding experience in both the aural and written versions’.

So if you’re looking for some inspiration and hope from well-known voices in the Catholic Church then make sure you check out The Hope that is Within You series. Sr Judith Russi and Pádraig Ó Tuama are just two of the interviewees in the series. Timothy Radcliffe, Eamon Duffy, Gemma Simmonds, and Jean Vanier (coming soon) also provide their inspirations and insights into the hope that lies within them.
